Filenames and character type
« on: August 11, 2006, 11:26:23 AM »
I've noticed that RakNet is using char* for the filenames (FileListTransferCBInterface for example). Why not use a defined value (rakChar* for example), and set it up according to the application encoding? When I build my application as UNICODE, char* is not the prefered type (and for other systems than english, it's a problem to use char* rather than wchar_t* for example).

Was going to post something like this but figured I'd resurrect an old post instead and add to it.

wchar_t support would be very nice
for things like bitstream and the stringcompresser specifically.

Do you know of a way to do this automatically? I'd like for RakString to detect whatever type is being used and just work with that automatically.
